- Competencies required to deliver cardiovascular and/or
radiologic technology services.
- Job Details
- Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a
mentor/preceptor, works to achieve the initial competencies
required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic
technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient
populations.
- Provides safe, high quality, efficient and cost-effective
patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent
conditions in a variety of care settings.
- Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical
history with procedures to be performed.
- Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and care
team members to identify and implement the desired clinical
outcomes and service expectations.
- Utilizes specialized equipment and techniques to perform a
diverse range of diagnostic, interventional and/or surgical
procedures.
- Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm completion,
documentation, and technical quality.
- Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems and
prepares studies for reporting by physician.
- Performs operator-level quality control, cleaning, disinfecting
and maintenance per regulations.
- Participates in continuing education, professional development,
and research activities.
- Job Requirements
- Skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or
radiologic technology, medical imaging, and medical
terminology.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with
names, numbers, and codes.
- Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate
recommendations.
- Exercise discretion in handling confidential information and
sound judgment.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful
situations.
- Understanding of various operations, policies, and
procedures.
- Display initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing
assignments efficiently.
